iShares Core Equity ETF

The iShares Core Equity ETF Portfolio (often abbreviated as XEQT) denotes a Canadian-domiciled exchange-traded fund (ETF) issued by BlackRock's iShares. This instrument operates under the ticker "XEQT" on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). It is an aggregate portfolio and primarily focuses on equity securities. This ETF provides exposure to the collective equity market, predominantly North America, but also includes companies operating across the world. Its constituents – stocks of various companies – span across a multitude of sectors including financials, health care, consumer discretionary, and information technology, among others. Designed with an active investment strategy, the iShares Core Equity ETF Portfolio aims to provide capital gains by investing in other ETFs rather than replicating the performance of an index. Within its portfolio structure, it features holdings in other iShares ETFs. Thus, it offers what is called a 'fund-of-funds' structure. This fund transacts and is denominated in Canadian dollars (CAD). Therefore, potential investors considering international equities may find this useful for mitigating some degree of foreign exchange risk. In summary, the XEQT provides diversified exposure to a variety of equity-based assets within an accessible ETF structure. In so doing, it presents investors with an opportunity to diversify their holdings across multiple sectors and regions while maintaining a focus on equities. As with all investment products, however, potential risks exist and should be investigated prior to investment.
