ETFs seeking to replicate momentum stocks indices experienced a sell-off over yesterday’s market session with -$33,32M, withdrawn from the segment. ETFs progressed +2,03% on the same day. This brought the 30-day cumulative performance just above 0 at +1,09%. Momentum investing is a strategy of getting exposure to securities that had high returns over a few months. While the global demand and trades are slowly increasing, the fear of a second wave with some countries containing the population again is real. Uncertainty and a much slower recovery than anticipated led investors to decrease their exposure to this kind of strategies. Year-to-date, ETFs are still down -10,66%. 12 funds tracking 9 indices are included in the segment for a total of $701M of assets under management.
