Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDEXDJX DJI) Index
The Dow Jones Industrial Average index (DJIA) is one of the world’s most famous stock market indexes. It measures the performance of 30 major companies listed on stock exchanges in the US.
Unlike most indexes, the DJIA is a price-weighted index meaning you can replicate it by buying one share of each of its components. This also means more stocks with a higher share price have a larger impact on its performance than stocks with a lower share price.
