Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3x Shares ETF (FAZ), is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) incorporated in the USA. This ETF provides investors with a tactical instrument to express a negative view on the financial sector. This fund seeks investment results that are 300% of the inverse of the daily performance of the Financial Select Sector Index (IXMTR). FAZ uses swap agreements, futures contracts, and short positions to aim to reach its intended investment objective. The fund is managerially inclined towards a comprehensive array of financial companies incorporated within the Financial Select Sector Index, which includes commercial banks, capital markets, consumer finance, REITs, insurance firms, mortgage finance companies, and thrifts and mortgage finance. Investors should note that FAZ's three-times inverse exposure is reset daily. Therefore it may not provide the anticipated return over an extended holding period due to the impact of compounding on leveraged investment returns. Repo agreements and reverse repo agreements may also be utilized by this ETF to achieve targeted exposure. It's important for prospective investors to maintain awareness that frequent trading by the fund can lead to an acceleration of capital gains distribution and increased transaction costs. As such, potential investors should be well-versed in complex securities before undertaking this type of investment strategy. Additionally, potential Estimation collateral risks also exist; certain types of collateral could be illiquid or show high volatility thus creating challenges. Remember that indirect exposure to financial instruments involves inherent risk and knowledge about derivative markets is often required in order to fully comprehend such investments' implications in your portfolio.
