US Weather anomalies continue to lift oil & gas prices

Supply concerns in energy commodity markets were renewed with the emergence of Tropical Storm Nicholas on the Texas Gulf Coast as oil & gas producers in neighbouring Louisiana and US Gulf of Mexico pick up production after Hurricane Ida's visit a few weeks ago. According to the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, almost half of Gulf of Mexico output was still idle following Ida.

In reaction to the weather update, Brent Oil climbed by +4.2% to $75.34 a barrel, WTI rose by +3.2% to $71.97 and Natural Gas by +3.4% to $5.10 per million Btu.

Sprott Asset Management buys Uranium ETFs more upside

Since launching their "At-The-Market" Equity Program on August 17th, Sprott Asset Management amassed 10 million pounds of physical Uranium and now hold more than 28 million pounds. The buying spree pushed Uranium prices to 8-year highs to reach the $50/lbs mark.

The small and exclusive club of Uranium and Uranium mining ETFs tagged along and landed on our top performing ETFs list for the third straight week. Last week alone, North Shore Global Uranium Mining ETF (URNM), Horizons Global Uranium Index ETF (HURA) and Global X Uranium ETF (URA) gained 16.24%, 7.87% and 7.74% respectively and have become a popular key word among reddit traders.

Honourable Mentions: Crypto and Shipping ETFs

SonicShares Global Shipping ETF (BOAT) outperformed this year's best ETF and peer Breakwave Dry Bulk Shipping ETF (BDRY) with 3.9% gains vs. 1.92% as Covid protocols and port congestions continue to disrupt the shipping traffic.
