As Facebook plans to dive deeper into the Metaverse, a virtual reality space where users can interact with each other in a computer-generated environment, the tech giant has announced the rebrand, changing their name to "Meta".
The announcement came from Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg at Thursday's Connect 2021 event, saying: "Today, we're seen as a social media company. But in our DNA, we're a company that builds technology to connect people, and the metaverse is the next frontier, just like social networking was when we got started,"

Facebook is not riding solo on this. Other companies like Roblox (Gaming), Unity Software Inc. (Gaming) and Microsoft (Software) have their own plans for the Metaverse push. Investors can get early exposure to the metaverse through Roundhill Ball Metaverse ETF or META by Roundhill Investments. The fund invests in globally listed companies who are actively involved in the Metaverse, including companies developing the infrastructure, providing gaming engines and revolutionizing digital commerce, content, and social experience.
