A newly detected vulnerability in Log4j (Open-source Java Library) has affected iCloud, Steam and Minecraft and poses a real threat to other businesses. Worries have spread as this particular open-source Java library is used in almost all major Java-based enterprise apps and servers across the industry. Tracked as CVE-2021-44228, the vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote code execution as the user running the application utilizes the Java logging library. A hacker can gain complete control of a server when exploited correctly. The Log4j library in Java is used to keep a record of all activity in an application and is thus very commonly used by software developers across the world.
