A strong rebound hit some cryptos at the end of last week, following Elon Musk tweets that sent prices soaring. The CEO revealed that the only major personal investments he had outside of Tesla and SpaceX were in Ethereum, Bitcoin and Dogecoin.
Amazon also posted the following job opening on its website: "Digital currency and blockchain product lead", suggesting that the company could accept digital currencies as a means of payment in the future.
In our weekly European top we also find three Commodity ETCs (Exchange-Traded Commodities), with the WisdomTree Coffee ETC being the best performer of this top with a +17.45% return last week. This significant increase in the coffee price is essentially due to unusual cold weather threatens coffee crops in Brazil, the largest producer in the world.
Coffee trees are very sensitive to frost which can cause severe damage and even kill trees. If a farm must replant some trees, the production may take around three more years to harvest again. According to Brazilian government, last week frosts has impacted about 11% of the country total arabica coffee crop.
In Americas, the best performer is the Simplify Volt Pop Culture Disruption ETF accumulating a weekly return of +11.01%. This ETF seeks to expose investors to media platform leaders across streaming, social and internet of things.
